TERMS AND CONDITIONS is a contemporary art exhibition opening this Friday 14 March at 6pm in the Nishi Gallery, NewActon, it will be on display until Monday 31 March 10-2PM daily (4PM on weekends) and is curated by Chloe Mandryk in conjunction with the Art, Not Apart Festival (Saturday 15 March).

Terms and Conditions is a group exhibition of 11 contemporary emerging Australian artists with cross-disciplinary practices. Artists working in installation, video, performance, painting, sculpture, photography, ceramic, and poster art point out the ways in which we play (or rebel from) the rules of the art world, sexual encounters, health and other social constructions. ‘Terms and Conditions’ are set by us, directed at each other and held up by ideological systems, particularly a market-based economy.

We will be showing new work from Christine Atkins, Heather Brenchley, Oscar Capezio, Elizabeth Kenway, Anja Loughead, Viola Nazario, Eadie Newman, Michael Quill, Celine Roberts, Christina Thwaites and Kate Vassallo

Important album covers of my childhood. I got properly into ETBTG when I first moved to canberra. Dad burned me this album and sent it in the post.

Yes! I vaguely remember us having an EBTG discussion at some point but I was worried that I’d dreamt it…

Yeah we did! i probably also like Temperamental a little more too. At one point it was the only CD mum had in the car. Then I listened to it all the time in first year all like “Ooh I finally live in a city now, sort of”. Mirrorball is great, that is a great image. I also love Before Today off that album.
